So, it has been nearly a year now since I’ve been on this journey to fitness. During that time, I’ve spoken to many persons who have been encouraged by my progress and some of them have even signed up for classes at gyms across the island. I really want to commend you all for taking that first step in your journey towards fitness. Now I feel it’s necessary for me to say to you, that you’re going to have to be committed. BE COMMITTED!
In the beginning stages excitement, adrenaline and the newness of it all will take you through. Then those “maybe I should go tomorrow”, “I don’t feel like it today”, “who is going to miss me anyways” days are going to come and it is then that you will need to remember why you started on this way in the first place.
So, I can hear you questioning me “have you found your reason why?” I believe I have. The increase in energy levels, better fitting clothes, increased strength levels, the improved mental state, being able to better perform my job, the ability to keep up with my children are but some of my reasons why. The compliments from persons on the changes they see don’t hurt either. Lol.
So that’s where I am now. That’s some of my why. I can see it being streamlined eventually to “because this is my lifestyle”.
Wherever you are on your journey to fitness, remember to keep focused and stay the course.
