Music Industry Leaders Vow To Pause Business For A Day In Observation Of Blackout Tuesday 

The show will be paused. At least, that's the message coming from leaders and artists in the music business as part of a movement being referred to as Blackout Tuesday.
 
Music executives Jamila Thomas and Brianna Agyemang spearheaded the effort to shutter normal business operations on June 2 via their #theshowmustbepaused initiative.
 
A Twitter account tied to the group appears to have been created on Sunday, amid a weekend that saw communities across the country protesting the murders of George Floyd and others at the hands of police.

Wrongly Incarcerated Man On ‘America's Got Talent’ Says Prayer Got Him Through 37 Years 

Archie Williams told millions watching “America’s Got Talent” this week that prayer and singing got him through 37 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
 
Williams was featured on the talent competition for his singing gift and performed Elton John’s song “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” The wrongfully accused man was convicted for rape 37 years ago despite the lack of forensic evidence. Now 59 years old, Williams recalled that he was arrested at age 22 for this crime, sentenced to life in prison and served a lot of his time in Angola state penitentiary, one of the deadliest prisons in America.

New Survey: 45 Percent of Churchgoers Prefer Sermons That Are 30 Minutes or Less 

When it comes to estimating a sermon’s length, pastors and churchgoers aren’t on the same page, according to two new polls.
 
A total of 31 percent of Protestant pastors say their sermons are less than 20 minutes, according to a new LifeWay Research survey, yet only 14 percent of American Protestant churchgoers in a separate poll say their pastor’s sermons are that short.

German Officials: Over 100 Coronavirus Infections Traced To Frankfurt Evangelical Church 

Over 100 infections of the new coronavirus have been traced back to people who attended an evangelical church service in Frankfurt two weeks ago after restrictions on worship gatherings were eased, according to German officials.
 
Officials said Friday that a May 10 service at Frankfurt's Evangelical Christian Baptist Church has been linked to new COVID-19 cases in the area even though church leaders said they adhered to social distancing guidelines and disinfected the building.

67 Percent of Young People Have Turned to Prayer Amid the Pandemic 

A majority of teens and young adults say they are praying more or thinking about spiritual issues more than they were prior to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a new survey.
 
The poll of 800 high school students and 800 post-secondary students found that 67 percent said they’re either praying more often or thinking about spiritual issues more compared to the time before the virus.

Christians Pay Tribute to Ravi Zacharias Upon News of His Death 

Countless Christians expressed their thankfulness for Ravi Zacharias after the well-known apologist passed away this week at the age of 74. Zacharias spent his life defending the Christian message against the objections of skeptics and helping people through their objections to faith in Christ. He died at his home in Atlanta Tuesday after a battle with sarcoma.

Todd Tilghman, a pastor from Mississippi, was crowned winner of “The Voice” Tuesday night. He included in his finale performance MercyMe’s crossover hit “I Can Only Imagine."

Georgia Church Closes Two Weeks After Reopening As Families Come Down With Coronavirus 

A Georgia church that reopened after shutting down due to the coronavirus has axed in-person services again in what they describe as “an effort of extreme caution” as several of their families have become infected by the deadly disease.
 
Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle, an independent Baptist church led by Pastor Justin Gazaway in Ringgold, Georgia, restarted in-person services on April 26. Church representative Joan Lewis told The Christian Post on Monday, however, that they decided to suspend “in-person worship services for the foreseeable future” on May 11 after learning several families had contracted the virus.
